The amount of data that is transferred from your web site as visitors view the pages of your web site. If you have a web site with lots of video, audio, and images that gets many visitors per day, you would want to make sure that you choose a hosting plan that will allow large amounts of data to be transferred.
If you choose a hosting plan that only allows 10GB of data transfer per month, and your site transfers 20GB per month, then half of your visitors will be unable to view your site, and you could lose potential customers.
